Manual trigger
Most of the garage doors have a manual release that is located at the back of the door. You will often find a long red rope that hangs from the track of your door. When you pull this, you will release the trolley from the track and open your door manually. Then pull down the door until you hear a snapping sound; this should lock it back to place.
If after doing the above your garage does not revert to automatic mode then you will need to call in a mechanic for repairs. Safety precautions when using the release cord
1. Only use it when your garage door is in a down position. This is because when the handle is released, it comes crashing down. Secure the area before doing this and ensure there is nothing beneath the garage door.

2. Use the 2X4’s to prop open the door into a safe closing.

3. If the cord is hard to disengage, do not attempt to hang from it as this can damage it. If it breaks, you can fall down and suffer injuries.
